Across Africa, millions of people have been harmed by land grabbing, environmental destruction, and corporate misconduct. The law could protect them, but without the infrastructure to reach, verify, and organise claimants, cases never get filed. CLAIM is being built to change that.

CLAIM: Claimant onboarding & access to justice in africa

WHY THIS MATTERS

A continent denied justice

Africa holds immense natural wealth, and carries the weight of decades of exploitation. Colonial legacies, ongoing corporate misconduct, and governmental failures have left communities harmed and legally abandoned. The path to redress is structurally closed: affected people are dispersed, undocumented, linguistically isolated, and entirely outside the legal infrastructure they would need to seek justice.

International law firms, NGOs, and litigation funders are increasingly willing to take on high-impact cases in African jurisdictions. But they're held back by a fundamental gap: they cannot reach, verify, and manage large claimant populations at scale without specialist infrastructure.

You cannot protect the environment unless you empower people, you inform them, and you help them understand that these resources are their own.
— Wangari Maathai

WHY WE’RE BUILDING IT

The infrastructure has never existed.

until now.

CLAIM fills a gap that has left legally meritorious cases unpursued and entire communities without recourse. It builds the technology and operational backbone to systematically, scalably, and dignifiedly bring affected people into mass litigation, combining world-class legal operations with grassroots community access.

The precedents exist. Large-scale plaintiff mobilisation has worked in Brazil, the UK - and many other jurisdictions. CLAIM brings that model to Africa, governed in a way that keeps communities, not funders or firms, at the centre.
